Apprentice Programs

Mystical Yoga Farm is open to those who have a calling to live in a yoga and spiritual community in the most beautiful and mystical lake in the world. By joining our apprentice program you are making a commitment to the yogic and spiritual lifestyle we practice every day on the farm.

The Mystical Yoga Farm is three years old, and we have learned so much about how to offer a quality apprentice program. We have evolved from an open enrollment program, where people could join any time, into a set scheduled program at certain times of the year. The course now has a set daily and weekly schedule full of yoga, farming, special topics, spanish classes, healthy food and good friends.

During these 24 days we will follow the cycle of the Indigenous North American Medicine Wheel allowing you to explore and weave through the cycles of your own personal transformation. You will study yoga off the mat at a deeper level by diving into the Philosophy as a way of life with special classes on topics such as Chakras, Kriyas, Lucid Dreaming, Mystical Poetry, Ayurveda Nutrition ETC.  All apprentices are invited to share special topics with the community providing a ever changing educational environment.

During this apprenticeship you will study Mayan culture in the heart of Guatemala with our local shaman in a Mayan Wisdom workshop, as well as be invited to a Medicinal Cacao Ceremony. We will also study the core of compassionate communication with a Sacred Communication Workshop. We will be offering Spanish classes with our local teacher 2-3 days a week, Study Permaculture practices with local farmers (one trip to IMAP for a tour and one trip to Atitlan Organics for a tour and lunch)
You will also have the opportunity to volunteer at the local Chakaya school and work with other volunteer projects we have relationships with on this beautiful lake.

Daily Life on the Farm

The following table is the tentative schedule of the Apprentice Program. We ask each apprentice to follow the schedule as closely as possible so the experience at the farm is enriched and alive. Some exceptions will be observed. For example, garden crew may have to skip morning Meditation and Asana sessions to work in the early morning hours during harvesting days or skip afternoon asana session to work in the longer afternoon hours for planting days. Our farm will be operated by the rhythm of the cosmos not by the minds of people. We encourage all of you to become aware of the cycles of change in you and around you.

• 6:00 AM Morning Meditation & Asana Class (Mandatory)
• 8:30 AM Community Breakfast
• 9:30 AM Apprentice Meeting
• 10:00 Karma Yoga (our daily work for the community and on the land)
• 12:30 Light Snack
• 1:00 Karma Yoga
• 2:30 Special Topic Classes
• 4:30 Self Sadhana Time
• 5:30 PM Community Dinner
• 6:30 PM Satsang or Ceremony (evening gathering, community reflection, singing/chanting) (Mandatory)
• 8:00 PM Dream Time (absolute quiet time)

1 day off a week, Sundays are a rest day (with optional satsang, personal practice and meditation)

Financial Contribution for Apprentices

Community Meals and Accommodations: All meals on the farm are fresh vegetarian meals prepared with intention by the loving hands and hearts of our community members. Accommodations for apprentices will be in our dorm or shared cabins. There are shared bathroom and shower facilities located nearby the sleeping quarters.
The farm is drug and alcohol free. Anyone who violates this policy will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

After completing a 24 day intensive apprentice program, a 5 % discount off of tuition is available for our other programs and workshops in the future.
