Join Us For The First Medicine Ceremonies Inside Our Fully Completed New Temple
Mystical Yoga Farm is a fully resourced shamanic center and off-grid community immersed in nature right on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. We offer ayahuasca and huachuma (san pedro) ceremonies throughout the year and include these in our plant medicine retreats at Lake Atitlán. We’ve held ceremonies and rituals at MYF for 5 years now, using yoga shalas and our beloved Fire Circle.
Over the last 18 months the MYF (Jah & Sunny) have collaborated with dear brother 7-cup Scott who bought land 10 min walk away, and is the primary funder of the temple project. As our incredibly unique design, geometric architecture, artistic finishes and visions expanded the budget came out incredibly hight! It’s been through the amazing support of our network and some incredible investors that we’ve been able to continue to build this EPIC dream into reality. It is truly built on many many mirales, and is a true testiment to the power of community that Jah, Sunny, Malakai and team have created over the last decade!
The Guatemala ayahuasca & huachuma retreats and ceremonies are led by Jahendo and Sunny who have been holding space in 100s of ceremonies together for the last 6 years. Their deep friendship and love for each other vibrates out into any healing space they’re in.
By blending ancient spiritual & healing arts with modern therapeutic techniques, they create a sanctuary for self-discovery. Through their expertise, participants embark on an incredible transformative journey, unlocking profound layers of insight and well-being. Their experience as medicinal space-holders ensures that the ceremony is not only deeply enriching but also conducted with utmost expertise and care.
Grandmother Ayahuasca
April 25 – 6pm to 2am
April 26 – 9pm to 6am
Ayahuasca (Daime, Nixi Pae, Uni) is a revered plant medicine, traditionally used by Amazonian tribes for deep healing, spiritual awakening, and expanded consciousness. This sacred brew, made from the Banisteriopsis caapi (aya) vine and Psychotria viridis (chakruna) leaves, guides participants through profound inner journeys—bringing visions, emotional release, purification, and deep insights. Many experience a sense of clarity, connection, and healing as the medicine works through the mind, body, spirit, and heart.
Jah & Sunny’s ceremonies are Huni Kuin-inspired, weaving joy, singing, healing, and dance into the experience. Rooted in tradition yet infused with heart-centered community, these gatherings create a safe and loving space to receive the medicine’s wisdom, clear energetic blockages, and step into greater alignment with one’s truth.
Night 1 ~ Ceremony Flow
Jahendo is trained and initiated with the Huni Kuin tribe of brazil. He has studied deeply with Yawanawa, Shipibo, Santo Daime and countless western mentors. The ceremony is a unique blend of all these styles, primarily Huni Kuin, giving you a well-rounded approach to this beautiful healing journey!
The ceremony begins at 6pm with a quick orientation.
Then we open the space with a prayer and the first cup.
We will have 45min of noble silence after the first cup in the dark. We then will spend about an hour singing traditional chants (icaros, saites, and pakaris) with just the voice.
Then we will have the second cup, where we invite the guitar and other instruments in. The songs will be primarily Haux songs from the Amazon jungle in Brazil from the Huni Kuin, Yawanawa tribes, with some portuguese as well.
Halfway through we will call for Hape time (a shamanic tobacco snuff used for cleansing). After Hape time we will turn on some candles and lighten up the mood.
After a while we will call for the 3rd and final cup, after which we will sing English songs and bring more light, joy, softness and celebration. Towards the end we will open the space for others to share music. We will close with a very special dance to get us back in our bodies.
When the ceremony closes there will be fruit and soup available for all to enjoy!
Night 2 ~ Ceremony Flow
For our grand opening ceremony, we will be bringing in extra special guests and musicians, altering our standard night 2 ayahuasca ceremony flow as seen below.
The ceremony will begin with the opening prayer and first cup, followed by a 15 min silent meditation. Then we chant Icaros and tribal chants without instruments.
Then we will call for Hapé time, & after, we offer Sananga. Both are optional. Hapé will be available upon request anytime after. Then we will serve the 2nd cup of Aya.
After the second cup, we will start to play instruments, with songs from the jungle. The space is infused with joy and singing, dancing is highly encouraged. We will have bands, special guests, and different groups of people playing! Songs carry healing vibrations from the forest, opening the voice, activating the heart, and inspiring the spirit to shine.
After the 2nd cup, we invite Shuru (Santa Maria) into the space. This opens deeper visions, greater clarity, and stronger healing. Huni Kuin work with this plant medicine, so we love it. It is completely optional and available throughout the night.
Later we will call for the last serving of medicine and the final chance to drink more.
We then will open up the space for participants to share songs. We will close out the evening with an EPIC dance party and special Huni Kuin dance ritual. The ceremony will close around sunrise. After we close, fruit and soup will be available.
Huachuma Hike (San Pedro Cactus)
April 29th – 10am to 10pm
Huachuma, or San Pedro, is seen as the Grandfather medicine of the Andes. His active alkaloid is Mescaline, which is NOT a tryptamine. It’s in the same family as Cacao and MDMA, with similar heart opening benefits and it’s own unique subtle energy. In large doses it can be psychedelic & visionary, though those aren’t its primary affects. The effects can last anywhere from 8-16 hours depending on dosage.
You will have the choice of how much medicine you’d like to drink.
The main effects of huachuma are a heart-opening, deepened state of awareness, with a profound connection to Nature and deep communion with Spirit. He offers us a deep focus, stillness of the mind, and focus. He opens us up to our Prayer, what we want to create in this life, our purpose, our patterns, and how we can become a better person! The most magical effects are that of Clarity of Vision, and revealing our Truest Self and how to embody that.
Ceremony Flow - Huachuma Hike
We will begin our day drinking the first cup and opening the ceremony in our temple. We will open the space with prayers, intentions and songs, followed by a short movement exercise to bring awareness to our bodies and energy flow. We will then begin our hike, which has fun stops along the way.
There is about 2hrs total of hiking, and we will hang out in each pitstop for about 1-3hrs each.
Our first pitstop is Grandfather Rock, an ancient Mayan altar with 1000s of years history being used as a sacred site for prayers, offerings and connection to the Spirit Realm. We will connect with the Earth, leave offerings, pray, sing Earth songs, and make a flower mandala together.
Then we hike up to the 2nd altar.
Our second pitstop is deep in the forest at an ancient Mayan water altar. In this space we will sing water songs, have a special water blessing ritual, honor the divine feminine, and drink our second cup of medicine.
Then we will hike up to our third altar.
Our third pitstop, Base Camp at the Air altar, will be at the top of the mountain with a spectacular view of the lake and open skies. Here we will connect with the air element, sing air songs, make prayers, and chill out and meditate in silence. We will also serve the sacred medicine of Hape, which will bring grounding and clarity. We will sing songs from the Brazilian Amazon to help move the force of the medicine. After about an hour, we will then head back down the mountain and return to the temple land!
There will be a short period of freeflow, with fruits available, option to swim in the lake, connect with the family, or be in your own space. This will be for about an hour.
Our final destination will be our Sacred Fire in the Templo da Jiboia where we will anchor in our prayers, sing more songs, and connect with the fire element. There will be loads of offerings available throughout the night for you to pray for your life, your family, your business and continue to anchor in your intentions!
The ceremony will then close and soup will be available, with the fire staying open for prayers, cozy vibes and more songs!
About the Facilitators
Jahendo & Sunny have been holding space in 100s of ceremonies together for the last 3 years. Their deep friendship and love for each other vibrates out into any healing space they’re in.
Jahendo
Jahendo is the owner of the Mystical Yoga Farm and hosts ceremonies there regularly. He has been working at MYF since 2015, learning and sharing his skills.
He is a professional medicine music and carries many heart songs, medicine songs, indigenous songs from the jungle, and icaros.
He loves choosing songs based on the way that they move energy and the healing force they carry.
He has been serving Jurema (xanga) for over 10 years, and serving huachuma for just over 7 years. And now is serving Ayahuasca for the past 1+ years, with permission of his Huni Kuin teachers.
He continues to deepen his work and do his own healing by sitting with shamans and medicine carriers all over the world, and does a yearly pilgrimage in Peru. He’s worked deeply with a number of traditions including Shipibo, Huni Kuin, Marakame (Huichol), Quechua, and many more. He incorporates a lot of these healing modalities into a well-rounded service to the divine.
He has assisted in many Ayahuasca ceremonies, as well as Huachuma, Peyote and others, and believes it is a divine service to work with these medicines and work with their original carriers.
He is a 500hr E-RYT yoga teacher and has studied and helped in over 10 shamanic yoga teacher trainings. He loves infusing yoga philosophy into the ceremonial works.
His biggest passion is bringing joy and lightness, as well as focus and sacredness into his offerings. He provides a very safe, held and loving healing space for transformation!
Sunny
Sunny is the Heart Keeper and Manager of the Mystical Yoga Farm. She has been working at the MYF since 2018.
She is filled with the pure spirit of the hummingbird, of joy, love, connection and play.
She is a gentle yet powerful space holder, by active listening, being fully present, sharing heart opening music, and teaching playful yoga.
She first started working with plant medicines 6 years ago.
She says, “In my first Huachuma ceremony I found a deep connection with my true essence and the elements around me, it opened my voice, heart, mind and spirit.”
Since this experience Sunny has been sitting in different medicine ceremonies with indigenous tribes and people who have directly worked with the original medicine carriers.
Sunny has been assisting in Hucahuma, Xanga, and Ayahuasca ceremonies for three years.
In these ceremonies Sunny holds a motherly/sisterly/angelic presence, a safe space for those to be held and nurtured if they need that support.
She uses music and her voice to help the medicine move through our bodies.
She is available for 1-on-1 support, limpias, a hand to hold, and a bright light to look at when feeling lost in the dark.
Huachuma / San Pedro Ceremony & Retreats
We also offer Huachuma / San Pedro ceremonies & retreats throughout the year. Huachuma, or San Pedro, is seen as the Grandfather medicine of the Andes. The main effects of huachuma are heart-opening, deepened state of awareness, profound connection to Nature, clarity on your life path/purpose, deepened prayer, and deep communion with Spirit. We also offer ayahuasca and San Pedro retreats as the two plants medicines work well together and the Huachuma can serve as an amazing ally for integrating the ayahuasca.
Unlike Other psychedelics, huachuma is extremely grounding. We receive the medicine during the day time, inside the temple, then consciously walk up the mountain to sacred Mayan altars (with permission) to leave offerings, connect with Nature, Spirits of the Land, and the elements. We move through elemental altars, connecting them to different aspects of ourselves so we can truly embody these teachers. Jah, Sunny and MYF Team will open and close each round with specific songs and prayers, with space open in between for participants to share their music as well! All songs are welcome.
This medicine holds a profound sense of community and the MYF community container is truly special and unlike anywhere else you can drink medicine. The strong love vibration, paired with the incredible music, and deep connection to Pachamama… This ceremony leaves everyone feeling inspired to embody their Truth and to live their life to the fullest!

Frequently Asked Questions about Ayahuasca in Guatemala…
What is Ayahuasca?
Ayahuasca — also known as the tea, the vine, and la purga — is a brew made from the leaves of the Psychotria viridis shrub along with the stalks of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, though other plants and ingredients can be added as well.
This drink was used for spiritual and religious purposes by ancient Amazonian tribes and is still used as a sacred beverage by some religious communities in Brazil and North America, including the Santo Daime.
Where did Ayahuasca originate from?
Ayahuasca is a traditional plant-based brew that originates from indigenous tribes in the Amazon rainforest. It has been used for centuries in spiritual and healing ceremonies, particularly in regions of Peru, Brazil, Colombia, and Ecuador. Rooted in ancient traditions, ayahuasca holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for many indigenous communities. Jahendo is trained and initiated with the Huni Kuin tribe of brazil. He studies deeply with Yawanawa, Shipibo, Santo Daime and countless western mentors.
Is Ayahuasca legal in Guatemala?
Unlike some countries where Ayahuasca use is heavily restricted, Guatemala occupies a more open space for alternative and spiritual medicines. It operates in a legal gray zone, which allows traditional ceremonies to take place without formal restrictions. This openness, combined with Lake Atitlán’s potent energy vortex, has made Guatemala an increasingly popular destination for those interested in working with Ayahuasca.
What to avoid before Ayahuasca?
Preparing for an Ayahuasca ceremony will make sure your energy and physical vessel are as clear as possible to fully receive the medicine’s wisdom and healing. Please refrain engaging with these substances on ceremony day and it can be beneficial to remove these in the days lead up to your ceremony.
Here are the key practices to avoid as part of your preparation process:
- Alcohol, Cannabis and Recreational Drugs: These may interfere with Ayahuasca’s ability to work harmoniously with your mind and spirit.
- Caffeine and Stimulants: Avoid coffee, cacao and other stimulants to give your nervous system space to settle and recharge naturally.
- Pharmaceuticals & Medications: Please consult with us about any you are taking prior to joining the ceremony. These may require a longer detox or be reason to not join the ceremony as the interaction between Ayahuasca and certain medications can be dangerous.
What food to avoid before Ayahuasca?
Your diet is also an integral part of your preparation. A clean body helps ensure you are energetically, emotionally, and physically ready for the experience. Here’s what to avoid on ceremony day and it can be beneficial to to remove this food from your diet in the days leading up to your ceremony.
- Spicy Foods: These can overstimulate your body’s systems.
- Red Meat: Heavier to digest and can weigh down your energy.
- Fermented Foods: Minimize these as they may interact negatively with Ayahuasca’s components.
- Sugar and Processed Foods: Stick to whole, nourishing foods to keep your body light and clean.
- Salt & Oil: Reduce these to promote an alkaline environment within.
Who should not drink Ayahuasca?
While Ayahuasca holds profound healing potential, it is not suitable for everyone. Here are those who should tread carefully—or avoid it altogether:
- People on Antidepressants or Medications containing Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOIs) or Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs): The interaction between Ayahuasca and certain medications can be dangerous.
- Individuals with Severe Heart Problems: The purging process may intensify the physical body’s response, so extreme caution in this case is essential.
Above all, participating in any Ayahuasca retreat requires a commitment to the work, a willingness to confront shadow aspects of yourself, and respect for the plant’s sacredness.
If this is your first time sitting in an Ayahuasca ceremony then please contact us if you have any questions and to make sure the ceremony is a good fit for you.
