Writing a book about my regenerative lifestyle has been such a unique journey, and it wouldn’t have been the same without the experiences that I co-created at Mystical Yoga Farm during my travels through Central America.

Mystical Yoga Farm is one of my favorite places in the world, and it is where many of my perspectives on freedom and my abundance mindset began. I completed my yoga teacher training at the Farm with Institute Yoga School, helped manage the farm for a short period of time, taught yoga classes on site, and facilitated a retreat.
I am so grateful for the beautiful insights and inspiration that Mystical Yoga Farm has brought me!

Now, I am excited to share with you all an excerpt from my forthcoming
book, Regenerate Your Reality: Your Guide to Regenerative Living,
Happiness, Love & Sovereignty, which includes many mentions of Mystical
Yoga Farm.
The book is already available for pre-order, and will launch on March 11th. If what you read here

Affirmation: I make my dream my reality through
my actions and passions. I follow the call of my heart and intuition.

As I traveled through Central America, I learned some truths that continue to set my passion on
fire. I learned that we can channel our fire and anger to create change and take action. While
traveling, I followed my heart and achieved my goals to complete my yoga teacher training,
volunteer on a permaculture farm, and learn Spanish.

I didn’t know what my service to the world would be, but I just continued to trust my heart as I
followed my passion path. As a volunteer at Mystical Yoga Farm in Guatemala, I traded my time
and work in exchange for a portion of my yoga teacher training. While there, I practiced yoga
and learned how to grow my own food all while living on less than fifty dollars a week.

Volunteer or work-trade agreements can be excellent opportunities to practice your passions in
exchange for most of your living costs.

During my travels, I started to recognize that part of my calling is to embody environmentalism
in my lifestyle. I saw firsthand how capitalism devastated communities. I saw how greed for
money and resources won out at the expense of people’s livelihoods, land, and water. I saw how
people in the so-called “third world” were living in community and sharing resources. People
were living off of very little income and still seemed happy. Why? Because they were meeting
their basic needs for food, water, shelter, and community.

Below are a few learnings from my travel journals describing the moments when I began to see
my calling take shape in the fire I was feeling:

In Mayan culture, mountains are guardians of the land.
Mayans believe God is in everything around them.

As a greeting, Mayans ask, “¿Cómo está tu corazón?”

(How is your heart?)
How beautiful is this culture?

It is eye-opening to see the perspectives of the locals on capitalism and its devastating effects on

their communities and land. We only have one life, one earth.

We are all one.

Protect it.

“The history of Latin America is the history of the development of world
capitalism. Our defeat was always implicit in another’s victory. Our wealth has
always generated poverty in order to feed the prosperity of others: the empires
and their cronies. In colonial and neocolonial alchemy, the gold transforms into
scrap iron, and the food converts to poison.” —Sipakapa No Se Vende*, a
documentary about Goldcorp mining on Mayan land

I love studying and learning about Mayan culture. When I lived in Guatemala, I was inspired by
the women protecting vibrant traditions and customs and tending to their food forests. I toured
many family gardens and saw how the only items they purchased were rice and beans; all the rest
was grown in small spaces for cultivation…
